Lavar Wrote a check that Lonzo has to cash

The difference between The NFL and NBA is we get to know NBA players more personally. The league does a good job of promoting the players and their personalities. Lebron is the Golden child prodigy who's met every expectation but stills wears a durag with no hair, Westbrook is the hyper competitive guy who might murder you while wearing skinny jeans and James Harden is a stat sheet stuffer who puts up his best stats in Houston strip clubs.
The one player the league doesn’t have to promote is Lonzo Ball his father has been doing that since he was just a twinkle in Lavars eye.
Lavar: “Lonzo was the fastest sperm out of all the division one sperms i got swimming down there, that’s how i knew he was going to be special he won his first race by a mile. Before i even finished that boy was already comfy in that egg”.


That’s what i picture a conversation with Lavar about Lonzo would be like because all he did since we met the guy was sell lonzo as this basketball savant who the other players wouldn’t be able to handle.

Well Lonzo was welcomed to the league by professional irritant and possible homeless Patrick beverly. Who in the most simple simple way to describe it “Thugged” Lonzo out. Lonzo really looked like he missed the suburbs of chino hills and isn’t ready for what the league has planned for him. Lonzo finished the game 1 for 6 with 3 points 9 rbs and 4 assists which aren’t terrible stats for your rookie debut especially the 9 boards which was the fourth most in the game behind only Blake, DJ and Larry nance but with all the claims Lavar has been making about Lonzo since his UCLA stint like ” “My boy is better than Steph curry” and don’t forget when he said lebrons kids won’t be that good because their dad is Lebron. I don’t get the logic there but as a father i know one thing, don’t talk about my kids especially if i’m Lebron and can embarrass your son for a full 48 minutes on national T.V

Today’s thugging brought to you by patrick beverley will be one of many lonzo will have to endure this season thanks to his dad’s big mouth. To end this month alone Lonzo will be faced up Against Eric bledsoe, John Wall, Kyle lowery and Dame lillard some of the best players the league has to offer. Lavar repeatedly boasting his son is better than two time NBA MVP Stephen Curry who just happens to be in the same division as lonzo and will being seeing him at least 4 times a year for the foreseeable future will not help things get any easier for Lonzo.


So buckle up Lonzo i’m rooting for you and that natural passing ability but your daddy’s been writing checks that you’re forced to cash now.

The Game has announced that his Next album is his “last”. Hip Hop like in sports only the Legends get to pick when it’s over and it’s an interesting conversation depending on who you ask. To some Game is a great mc, to others he’s an attention seeking gang member who will find any kind of drama to attach himself to. In my eyes though game is one of the greatest mc’s to ever pick up a microphone. He checks all the boxes. When I look at a legendary rappers there are a certain marks you hit Talent: if i put you in a room and told you to just rap would i be impressed? Loyalty, You talking about loyalty?

Whether the Celtics and  Cavs trade gets finalized,hopefully this is the last season we talk about loyalty in sports. I’m not saying there is no loyalty between the players or even the coaching staff and the players but that’s where the cut off begins. Look at the contrast of the biggest offseason moves of the last two season. In 2016 Kevin durant signed with the Golden State Warriors and was destroyed by the internet and sport personalities for not being “loyal”, after playing in OKC for 9 years, taking them to their very first NBA finals and was a focal point in the community during the Tornado that devastated the OKC area. This off season the Celtics are in the process of trading Isaiah thomas for kyrie irving. If you missed last season isaiah thomas only Averaged 30 ppg and led the NBA in 4th quarter scoring.
